Two exciting new trailers have just been released for Marvel’s Daredevil, a series that looks to be a gritty, noir infused tale of crime and justice about the lengths one man will go to save his city.
Lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) uses his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil.
Charlie Cox looks right at home in this dark, noir drenched crime tale as blind lawyer Matt Murdock who with the use of his superhuman heightened senses turns to vigilantism to take on the corruption, greed and death that is being sown by powerful business magnate Wilson Fisk, better known as the arch crime lord Kingpin. Cox is a perfect fit for Matt, being able to play up the ambitious young lawyer who, with his best friend and partner Foggy Nelson(Elden Henson), is determined to do good, while also having turned himself into a fearsome, shredded brawler, who isn’t afraid to dive into the muck, and get his hands dirty.
These two new trailers highlight the dark and brooding world of Hell’s Kitchen as well as the intensity that all of its actors bring to their roles. Of special note is the introduction of Scott Glenn’s Stick, who appears to have a Vietnam vet vibe going on, and who trains a young Matt to survive the Kitchen’s harsh streets. The series fight scenes look absolutely brutal in their choreography, and are directly in keeping with the series harsh source material (as it should be).
April 1o is going to be a great day to be a binge watcher, and we can assure you that we won’t be stopping as we watch with anticipation at the rise of the first defender in Daredevil.
