With its first official trailer director Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest is promising to take audiences to the most dangerous place on earth!
Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain in 1996, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on planet earth, the two climbing parties must work together, and push themselves harder and farther than ever in this breathtaking struggle for survival.
The trailer is an absolute thrill ride from beginning to end setting the scene for a group of mountaineering thrill seekers (Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Michael Kelly), and the two remarkable guides, stoic New Zealander Rob Hall (Jason Clarke), and American daredevil climber Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhall) who would take them to the world’s highest peak. Both Clarke and Gyllenhaal look absolutely remarkable as two very different, but equally determined mountaineers who, when nature pushes back, will do everything to see their team return safe.
On September 17 prepare for the ultimate tale of man’s willpower to survive against all nature throws against him.
