Audiences everywhere are counting the days to the release of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, and the reveal of Margot Robbie’s performance as the iconic Harley Quinn.
In a recent interview with Cineplex, Robbie was ecstatic about the forthcoming film, and just how crazy she got to push it as super villainous Harley Quinn. “Harley is creepy, violent, crazy — all of the things that I aspire to be!. It’s the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life.”
Robbie also appears very excited with the casting of her Focus co-star Will Smith in the role of the cocky assassin Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot, and was very keen for him to take on the role.
“I actually texted him when I heard he was in negotiations to be in ‘Suicide Squad’ and kept peer-pressuring him,” Robbie said. “‘You’d better be taking this movie!’ He obviously signed on for his own reasons, but I was so incredibly happy that we got to do Round Two. He’s awesome on set and awesome off set. He’s just a really, really good person.”
Anticipation is high for Suicide Squad with the release of the brand new trailer just weeks away, and fans will be flooding to cinemas everywhere to catch this unique cinematic experience when it opens on August 4 in New Zealand and Australia and on August 5 in the US and UK.
