Tom Hiddleston set to play spy games in ‘The Night Manager’

British thespian Tom Hiddleston is set for a game of cat and mouse in a six-part miniseries adaptation of John le Carre’s The Night Manager.

This contemporary adaptation finds Hiddleston as former British soldier Jonathan Pine, who is recruited by intelligence operative Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) to infiltrate the inner circle of international businessman Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie) and detonate the unholy alliance he has created between the intelligence community and a group of black market arms traders. Trying to hide the suspicions of his chief of staff Major Corkoran (Tom Hollander), and his girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki), Pine will have to cross the line into criminality himself in order to bring down Roper.

Academy Award winner Susanne Bier (After the Wedding, In a Better World) has taken the reigns as director and is promising a twisted, dense and stylish thriller that will deliver something new to audiences.

The Night Manager is due to premiere on BBCOne and AMC on April 19.
