While attending the 88th Academy Awards, super star Jared Leto opened up to TNT Brasil about his portrayal of The Joker in the forthcoming adaptation of Suicide Squad.
Although his appearance was brief, Leto talked about his turn as the Clown Prince of Clown starting with his on-set interactions with his co-stars as The Joker saying “I did interact [with the other actors], but I did it through the eyes of the Joker, which was really fun. It was fun to play that game.” On the challenges he experienced while in the role Leto said “it was interesting to take on this challenge, I mean it was unlike anything I’ve ever done before.” Finally, Leto had nothing but wicked praise for his director David Ayer, “oh he’s great, he’s an animal, I love him.”

In addition to Leto’s brief description of The Joker, Suicide Squad producer Charles Roven, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, declared that the film will be rated PG-13, but that Ayer is definitely pushing the boundaries. “I think right now we’re going for the PG-13. I don’t know that that’s going to materially change,” said Roven. “We can give that movie the edge that it needs and still maintain a PG-13.”
We’re loving everything about Mr J and Suicide Squad and can’t wait until the film is released on August 4 in Australia and New Zealand and August 5 in the US and UK.
