Madness awaits in the first trailer for ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’
Following the release of its breathtaking batch of first images, the first official trailer for Tim Burton’s adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is here, and it’s unlike any fantasy film we’ve ever seen before!
Based on the book by Ransom Riggs and adapted to the screen by celebrated screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service), the film follows 16-year-old Jacob Portman (Asa Butterfield), who accidentally finds himself on a mysterious island that is home to a remote orphanage for ‘peculiar children’ run by the eccentric Miss Peregrine (Eva Green).
Burton is clearly in his element and revels in the gorgeous Gothic fairytale that he gets to bring to life. There’s plenty of black humor that he applies to this set of ‘peculiar children’, and the titular Miss Peregrine, played by the stunning Eva Green, appears to be a rather whimsical-like Mary Poppins-like character whose mission in life is the wellness and protection of these abandoned, yet extraordinary children, especially from sinister forces that are led by Samuel L. Jackson’s evil Mr. Barron.
For anyone with a love for the whimsical, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will be a must watch when it is released on September 29 in Australia and New Zealand and on September 30 in the US and UK.
