Filming has just commenced on Paramount Pictures’ big screen adaptation of classic manga series Ghost in the Shell, and we’ve now got our first look at Scarlet Johansson as protagonist Motoko Kusanagi.
Ghost in the Shell follows Major Motoko Kusanagi, a one of a kind android-human who leads a special Spec Ops division devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and terrorists using advanced cybernetic technology.
Directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman), the new film will star an international cast including Takeshi Kitano, Pilou Asbaek, Michael Pitt and Juliette Binoche.
Production is currently underway in New Zealand, and Ghost in the Shell will reach cinemas on March 31, 2017.
