There’s nothing more awkward than watching your friend fight with their husband or wife, but when it’s fictional characters in a delightful movie? Priceless.
Clea DuVall is one of the actors I’ve always had my eye on. She pops up everywhere in often small but meaningful roles, and never fails to impress. So it’s no surprise really that this often under-the-radar but soon-to-be Hollywood heavyweight is now taking on the role of writer-director, with her directorial debut The Intervention soon to be released.
Starring Melanie Lynskey, Natasha Lyonne, Jason Ritter, Vincent Piazza, Ben Schwartz, Cobie Smulders, Alia Shawkat and DuVall, the film follows four couples on a weekend getaway, which soons turns sour for one pairing when they discover the trip is really an intervention on their marriage.
US audiences can catch The Intervention when it’s released August 26.
