Hugh Jackman is finally hanging up the claws with his final performance as Wolverine in James Mangold’s forthcoming Wolverine 3.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jackman confirmed that production has wrapped, and that Mangold is currently in the editing room. He also hinted that fans may get their first look at the new movie sometime next week.

“I’m very, very excited about it,” said Jackman. “There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so that’s all I’ll say. I’m really trying to, ughh I mean I’m not good, I’m the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically it’s going to be very different.Very different in tone, and hopefully very different to everything that we’ve done.”

Jackman was in attendance at the 95th anniversary of Hollywood’s Night Under the Stars event, where he also opened up about The Greatest Showman on Earth, which will see him star alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Zac Efron and rising star Zendaya.

While details remain elusive about the final Wolverine film, Jackman and Mangold have confirmed that they have incorporated parts of Mark Miller and Steve McNiven’s Old Man Logan storyline into the film, and that it will have a gritty, western tone. Further fan speculation and an extended scene at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse has lead fans to surmise that classic 1990s X-Men villain Mr. Sinster will be the main antagonist of the film.

In addition to Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart will also be returning as Professor Charles Xavier, while actors Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, and Richard E.Grant are set to appear.

Wolverine 3 is slated for release on March 2, 2017 in New Zealand and Australia and on March 3, 2017 in the US and UK.
