Live-action adaptations of Disney classics are all the rage in Hollywood, and now it looks like Mulan will be getting the same treatment.

Last year it was announced that screenwriters Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin sold a spec script based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. Disney has now hired Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Jurassic World) to rewrite Hynek and Martin’s script in way that would combine the Chinese ballad and the 1998 animated film.

There are currently no stars attached, but Disney has kicked off a global search to find a Chinese actress to play the badass heroine. We’re already narrowing down our favourites to play the role!

Expect to see Mulan in action as soon as November 2, 2018.
