Who did Negan kill on ‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 premiere?

You give you heart and soul to a TV show only to have the writers rip them both to shreds in a matter of moments. If you’ve seen the season seven premiere of the hit AMC show The Walking Dead then you’ll know what I mean. If you haven’t yet watched, then WARNING, there are soul crushing spoilers ahead.

For months fans have speculated and tortured themselves by trying to figure out who Negan kills with his trusty baseball bat Lucille. While many were leaning towards Glenn, who was killed by Negan in the graphic novel, others were doubtful since his dumpster ‘death’ ended up being a ‘got ya!’ moment during season six.

But alas, this death had to be big. A game changer for Rick and his family. And so the writers held nothing back in the heavy season seven premiere, deciding to kill not one, but two characters. Here’s who got the cut:

1. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz)

He was a true hero from beginning to end and it wasn’t easy to see this guy go in such a brutal way. After being hit in the head by Negan, Abraham continued to say “suck my nuts” before getting his head bashed in beyond recognition.

2. Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun)

He was a fan favourite from the start and a integral member of Rick’s family. A brave fighter and loving partner to Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Glenn’s death at the hands of Negan was just as brutal as Abraham’s, having been hit so hard that his eye popped out of its socket. But being Glenn, he always finds time to think of others, and before the fatal blow he turned to Maggie to say “I will find you.” I don’t think a TV death has ever made me feel quite as broken as this did, and I’m hoping against all odds that Rick and the survivors get their revenge one day soon.
