After the enormous success of Gravity and Interstellar, it’s no surprise the rest of Hollywood wants a slice of space pie, with Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, and Rebecca Ferguson next on the list to hit the International Space Station.
The first trailer for Daniel Espinosa’s Life was just released today, and doesn’t take long to show us the potential dangers of extraterrestrial life. Take a look below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
Joining Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, and Rebecca Ferguson in the cast is English actor Ariyon Bakare, who has primarily worked in television with roles in Spooks and Doctors. It looks like Life is offering the talented star the perfect opportunity to break out globally. Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada (Rush Hour 3, Mr. Holmes, 47 Ronan) is also co-starring in the sci-fi thriller, and is a welcome addition to an already impressive cast.
Life is set to be released on May 23, 2017 in New Zealand and Australia and on May 24, 2017 in the US and UK.
