It’s here! It’s here! It’s hereeeeee!

The first trailer for Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events has finally arrived, and it’s everything we could have hoped for and more.

Things kick off pretty quickly with the Baudelaire siblings discovering that their parents have perished in a fire, and that they are to live with a distant relative known as Count Olaf, played by a freaky looking Neil Patrick Harris. See the wonderfully weird happenings for yourself:

The eight-episode series is packed with a talented cast that includes Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, Don Johnson, Alfre Woodard, and Catherine O’Hara. Malina Weissman is playing Violet Baudelaire, which Louis Hynes plays the brilliant middle Baudelaire orphan, Klaus.

A Series of Unfortunate Events will premiere on Netflix on January 13, 2017.
