If there is one creed that ace street racer Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) lived by, it was his dedication to safeguard his family no matter the cost. But in the first trailer for mega-blockbuster The Fate of the Furious, Dom appears to have thrown any notion of love for his family away, and is an all-together new dark and twisted man.
Here’s the synopsis:
Having defeated ruthless mercenary Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in the events of Fast 7, Dominic Toretto (Vin Deisel) finally has something of a normal life with his wife Letty. But after Dom and his team are pulled into a new mission by DSS Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Dom makes a shocking revelation, and those closest to him are left reeling. With Dom falling deeper into a dangerous criminal underworld, his loved ones unite together to do everything in their power to rescue him from the darkness and put an end to a terrifying new enemy.

Director F. Gary Grey (Straight Outta Compton) is helming this new chapter of the Fast and the Furious franchise, and he’s packing in plenty of big action moments with even harder hitting narrative tones. I never thought I would have ever seen Dom turn to the dark side, but he appears to be under the spell of Charlize Theron’s mysterious anarchist-terrorist Cipher, a daring and calculating femme fatale.
But the surprises don’t stop there as bitter enemies Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are forced to team up in an initiative by intelligence operative Frank Petty (Kurt Russell) in order to put an end to Dom and Cipher’s reign of terror. What follows is plenty of insane beatdowns and wicked vehicular action that takes the Toretto family from Cuba to New York and finally Iceland.
The Fate of the Furious will crank your adrenaline up to 210% when it is released next year on April 13, 2017 in New Zealand and Australia and on April 14, 2017 in the US and UK.
