Christopher Nolan is returning to cinemas next year with a fantastic new vision as he brings the extraordinary true story of the Dunkirk evacuation to the big screen.
A brand new poster for Dunkirk has just been released, and it focuses its attention on a lone soldier who is surrounded by the chaos of the retreat across the English Channel.
Dunkirk will chronicle the extraordinary events of May 1940, when 380,000 British and Allied troops were evacuated from the French Peninsula under threat of annihilation by the German Wehrmacht. The miraculous operation codenamed Dynamo utilised everything from warships to motorboats to get the troops back home safely.
Given Nolan’s talent for spectacle and grandeur, Dunkirk is likely to be one of 2017’s most important cinematic releases, not only for the amazing attention to detail that Nolan will bring to the screen, but also in its chronicling of one of the most amazing chapters of the 21st Century.
Dunkirk is set to be released on July 20 in New Zealand and Australia and on July 21 in the US and UK.
