Liam Neeson’s Taken trilogy was the unexpected hit, and now the narrative is heading to network TV for a gripping origin series that will explore just how CIA super spy Bryan Mills came to be.
Vikings star Clive Standen steps into the role of the younger and as yet undisciplined Mills, who’s journey to alpha protector is sparked by tragedy. Soon he finds himself recruited into a top-secret intelligence unit whose mandate it is to protect national security.
Taken has already received a full series order, and based on the strength of the first trailer it’s not hard to see why. Standen is one of the best young actors working today, and not only channels the raw intensity and focus previously portrayed by Neeson, but also brings a subtle darkness of a man who has faced significant tragedy.
