As if we didn’t already feel spoiled today with news of This Is Us getting two new seasons, now NBC has announced that it’s ordered 10 new episodes of its hit show Will & Grace.
According to eonline, Debra Messing (Grace), Eric McCormack (Will), Megan Mullally (Karen) and Sean Hayes (Jack) will all be returning, as well as James Burrows, who famously directed every episode of the series during its eight years on air. Original producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan will also return as showrunners and executive producers. On the reunion, Mutchnick said in a statement, “Dave and I are absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to write what Will, Grace, Jack and Karen are thinking about in 2017.”
There were whispers of the show’s potential return after the cast and crew got together last year to film an election special. However, it was disputed not long after…but clearly got the ball rolling.
NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke confirmed as much in the network’s official statement:
“We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons. Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will and Grace is one of the best.”
We’re already dreaming of the hilarity that will ensue when the revival airs!
