There’s only room for one king on this island, and he’s a 300-foot monster gorilla who doesn’t react too kindly to a host of human invaders.
The new and final trailer for Kong: Skull Island does a stellar job at highlighting the size and ferociousness of the titular Kong, and makes a strong case for this blockbuster being a must-see.
The final trailer has plenty of visceral action sequences that not only show off the size and colossal strength of Kong, but also the immense firepower that is at the command of Samuel L. Jackson’s all business Col. Preston Packard. Stepping into full action prowess is English thespian Tom Hiddleston as former SAS officer Captain James Conrad, who has been putting in some serious work at the gym, and appears pretty adept with an M16. Our verdict: we want to see Hiddleston in more action roles in the future.
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts appears to have grounded the film in a slick tropical environment and really plays up the atmosphere of his Vietnam era setting, which in addition to plenty of psychedelic imagery, also has a rocking vintage soundtrack. And we can’t forget Academy Award winner Brie Larson as photojournalist Mason Weaver, who has her own reasons for venturing off to this mysterious island.
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush then Kong: Skull Island is definitely going to give you it when it’s released in cinemas on March 9 in New Zealand and Australia and on March 10 in the US and UK.
