In another big announcement for Netflix, the streaming company can now list Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt as one of its stars, as his new political war film, War Machine, is on its way.
The first teaser for the new film has just been released, and Pitt has plenty of snarky charisma as four-star Gen. Dan McMahon, who assumes command of all U.S. armed forces while in Afghanistan. Check it out below:
Adapted from Michael Hastings’ non-fiction book The Operators, Pitt’s character is based directly on former four-star U.S. Army commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who was in command of the Joint Special Operations Command or JSOC in Afghanistan, known for frequently challenging his superiors in the White House. He was particularly renowned for his public tirade against former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, which resulted in his forced retirement from the armed services.
War Machine will make its way onto Netflix on May 26.
