Things are moving steadily forward for Christian Rivers’ directorial debut, Mortal Engines, which has now announced its full cast.
Long known as the heir apparent to Sir Peter Jackman, Rivers has been a vital part of the team at Weta Workshop since 1992, and is now stepping up to the big leagues to helm the fantasy adventure that follows massively scaled cities that traverse the earth on large tractor tracks.
The film’s full cast has just been announced with young talents Robert Sheehan and Hera Hilmer headlining the film. They will be joined by an impressive cast that includes Caren Pistorius, Joel Tobeck, Stephen Ure, Khan West, Peter Rowley and Megan Edwards, along with Hollywood veteran Stephen Lang.
Mortal Engines will shoot later this year in New Zealand, and with the visionary direction of Rivers, along with the full support of Weta Workshop and Sir Peter Jackson, audiences can expect something very special.
Mortal Engines will be released on December 13, 2018.
