No one predicted the kind of cult following and success that was to follow Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service in 2015. The film catapulted Taron Egerton to superstardom and kept audiences begging for more, so it’s just as well that Vaughn has made us a nice little sequel to look forward to.
The first images from Kingsman: The Golden Circle were just released today, introducing some brand new and exciting characters.
The first image (above) showcases Taron Egerton’s dapper super spy Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, along with members of The Statesman (below), the USA’s equivalent to the Kingsman, who are based out of Kentucky.
Channing Tatum is adding his considerable star power to the sequel as a mystery Statesman agent, who is clad out in denim with a touch of country charm.
Other Statesman agents include Pedro Pascal as the aptly named Jack Daniels, Halle Berry as Ginger, the Statesman’s resident tech, and the legendary Jeff Bridges, who will portray the Chief of the Statesman.
This time around, the Kingsman will be facing Julianne Moore’s criminal mastermind Poppy, who is best described as a Martha Stewart-like entrepreneur with intentions to establish a new world order.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released on September 28 in New Zealand and Australia, and on September 29 in the US and UK.
