Netflix’s Dear White People could very well be better than the movie, given the amount of time we’ll have to spend with these hilarious characters as they navigate college life and racial tensions.

A new featurette has been released, with the cast discussing the impact the series could have and the many wonderful things about working on a project like this. Star Samantha Browning commented “there are scenes that all your different friends of different ethnicities are going to be talking about it like ‘wait is that not ok? Can I not do that? Why?'”

Showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser also discussed her hopes for the series, saying “I hope that the audience will be entertained. I hoped that perhaps they’ll be a little awakened. And I hope they will laugh a lot.”

Dear White People will be a must-watch for Netflix users when it’s released on the streaming service on April 28.
