It’s been making waves at Cannes and now we have our first look at Taylor Sheridan’s Wind River starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.
Here’s the synopsis:
When US Fish and Wildfire agent Cory Lambert (Renner) uncovers a body in the rugged wilderness of the Wind River Indian Reservation the FBI send in rookie agent Jane Banner (Olsen) to lead the investigation. But when all she finds is loose ends she calls in Lambert’s tracking abilities, and the two team up to venture deep into the wilderness to capture an elusive predator.
Sheridan brings the same dark edge to Wind River that we saw in his previous works Sicario and Hell or High Water, and it appears to be a slow-burn tale that combines both the police-procedural and western genres.
Critics have been raving about the film saying that Renner gives the best performance of his career since The Hurt Locker, while Olsen has been praised for her fearlessness as Banner.
Wind River will be released on August 4.
