Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak director Guillermo del Toro has been hard at work on his upcoming fairy tale flick The Shape of Water, and the first trailer really sets the scene for an out-of-this-world adventure.
Set during the Cold War era in America, the film stars Sally Hawkins as a mute janitor at a government laboratory who, along with her colleague Zelda (Octavia Spencer), discover an amphibious man in a water tank.
The first trailer paints a beautiful picture of finding connections in a lonely world of silence, as Hawkins’ Elisa befriends the odd creature and tries to protect him from more sinister humans (Michael Shannon). Check it out:
The Shape of Water hits cinemas December 8.
