George Miller – Directing The Madness Of Mad Max
We’re just two weeks away from the absolute madness of Mad Max: Fury Road, and in a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette director George Miller unleashes his vision.
Miller recounts how he conceived of the idea for Mad Max: Fury Road twelve years ago while on a plane ride from Los Angeles to Sydney, and that his goal was to bring it to life through the combination of the latest technology with the old world grit of the original trilogy.
Featuring interviews with Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, the new featurette also includes a wealth of previously unseen footage.
“It was George Miller who gave birth to the certain kind of car chase road movie, now he’s come back to reignite his world which he started”, said Hardy in describing the film’s tone. Hardy and the other principle cast look to have had the ride of their lives while filming it over six months, describing the film as an experience. Miller himself appears very confident in the film that he’s crafted, and the experience that it will give to audiences, “Fury Road is a more immersive version than the first films, your going to see something even larger in terms of the authenticity of the world.”
“You’re not really in a movie, you’re in George’s head”, said Hardy, and from what we’ve seen it’s going to be one crazy, and unbelievably berserk ride on May 14!
