Guy Ritchie’s slick spy action movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is shaping up to be the most stylish film of the year, with a batch of new posters showing off super spys, and high fashion.
Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s at the height of the Cold War, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. centers on CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Hammer). Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organisation, which is bent on destabilising the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organisation, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.
This new selection of posters features headliners Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, as well as showing off Elizabeth Debicki’s stylish villainess Victoria Vinciguerra, Alicia Vikander as unsuspecting asset Gaby Teller and Hugh Grant who portrays the dapper head of intelligence for U.N.C.L.E. Mr. Waverly.
The new film is adapted from the classic spy series which originally starred Robert Vaughn and David McCullum as warring spys-turned-reluctant allies Napoleon Solo and Illya Kurykin. In the latest trailer, director Guy Ritchie certainly looks to have nailed down the original series’ Cold War tone, while keeping with the original playful atmosphere of the original.
On August 13 get ready for some good’ol spy action with The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
