In 2009, GQ published an article titled ‘Game Brain’ outlining how Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist and neuropathologist, came to discover Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in the brains of former NFL players Mike Webster and Terry Long. It startled the medical community and angered many, particularly the NFL who repeatedly denied knowledge of the disease and the awful risks it presented players.
Now, thanks to Peter Landesman (Parkland), the terrifying truth is about to go wide in the upcoming sports drama film Concussion.
Will Smith stars as the brilliant Dr. Omalu, alongside a strong cast which includes Albert Brooks, Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Luke Wilson, and Paul Reiser. Check out the trailer below:
Concussion will hit theatres January 21, 2016.
