After causing mass excitement online following the release of its new poster, the first trailer for Duncan Jones’ adaptation of Warcraft: The Beginning is here in all its glorious beauty!
Set in the fantastical world of Azeroth, Warcraft will showcase the origins of the conflict that is raged between the humans of the Alliance, and the orcish forces of the Horde.
Jones appears to have handled the monumental adaptation with both care and an obsessive attention to detail. The worlds of both the Alliance and the Horde appear fully realised, and lead actors Travis Fimmel and Tobey Kebbell appear to be in complete control of their characters.
While Fimmel jumps head first into the action as the heroic Sir Anduin Lothar, Kebbell is a bastion of hope for his people as the ferocious yet noble Durotan. Joining them in the film are; Paula Patton as the conflicted half human/half orc Garona, Dominic Cooper as lord of Stormwind King Llane, Robert Kazinsky as the brutish Orgrim Doomhammer, Ben Foster as the mystical mage Medivh, Ruth Negga as Llane’s consort Lady Taria, Daniel Wu as the villainous Gul’dan, and Clancy Brown as the formidable Blackhand.
Audiences will have to swear their allegiance when Warcraft is released in cinemas on June 3, 2016 in the UK, June 10, 2016 in the US, and on June 16, 2016 in Australia and New Zealand.
