The first trailer for Ben Wheatley’s High Rise plays more like a promotional video for an architecture firm — a genius marketing ploy that just might lure audiences to line up for this outside of the box effort.
Based on the novel by J.G. Ballard, High Rise is set in London 1975 when Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) moves into a luxury high rise created by architect Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons), which is made up of an isolated community cut off from the rest of society. However, class injustices and tensions soon erupt, causing the residents of the high rise to fragment into violent tribes.
High Rise premiered this year at the Toronto International Film Festival but isn’t set for a theatrical release until March 2016 in the UK.
