In a new Facebook page update, Vin Diesel has opened up about the sequel to 2013’s Riddick, which has officially been titled Furia.
Diesel describes it as an “origin story”, and suggests that it will be on a larger scale similar to that of 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick. While Diesel does suggest that the film may be rated PG-13, his director and Riddick collaborator David Twohy scoffed at the idea and said that audiences can expect an R-rated film.
Riddick was a box-office success with a $100.3 million haul on a $40 million budget, and paired with Diesel’s ability to pull in the audiences with The Fast and The Furious franchise, Furia is set to be a huge success. While it’s still only in the development phase, we’re very keen on the idea of seeing everyone’s favorite galactic anti-hero back on the big screen.
