The laughs never stop coming as Robert De Niro and Zac Efron hit the road in this out of control comedic sensation.

After his wife dies, Dick Kelly (Robert De Niro), wrangles his uptight grandson, Jason (Zac Efron), in an effort to drive him to Boca. But what Jason doesn’t know is that Dick is secretly interested in getting in touch with his inner Spring Breaker, and the two end up in Daytona Beach where plenty of trouble awaits.

For those wanting nothing but laughter in the vein of traditional teenage comedies such as American Pie and Road Trip, you’ve come to the right place. This is Robert De Niro as you’ve never seen him before, and he completely throws out the rules and lets loose as Dick, whose total lack of regard for the rules makes for refreshing viewing. Starring alongside De Niro is Efron, who is great as the preppy and uptight Jason. But with his grandfather’s help, he seriously goes wild…somehow winding up in a thong and dancing like a maniac.

While De Niro and Efron lead the show, Audrey Plaza as Lenore and Jason Mantzoukos as Pam, definitely bring some serious laughs to the film. Audrey Plaza is a treat as over the top college student Lenore, who takes a shine to Dick. Mantzoukous on the other hand offers plenty of laughs as ‘herbal’ connaisuer Pam, and pops up throughout the film delivering plenty of comedic gems.

If you’re looking for something outrageous and a bit silly (we all need these kinds of laughs once in a while) then Dirty Grandpa is the way to go.
