If you’re looking for a movie that’s going to make you cry, rip your heart out, and possibly stitch it back together again, then Me Before You is it. For a little taste, here’s the first official trailer:
Based on the novel by Jojo Moyes, Me Before You tells the story of a young woman named Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke), who becomes the caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), who is paralyzed. While the wheel-chair bound Will has lost all desire to live, the joyous Louisa could be just the thing to change that.
Clarke looks delightful as the positive Louisa, while Claflin is certainly entering new territory as the brooding and defeated Will. Fans of the novel will hopefully be thrilled with what director Thea Sharrock has done, and who knows…we could have a new Notebook-level film on our hands.
Me Before You reaches cinemas in the USA and UK on June 3.
