Behold Batman’s epic score for ‘Batman v Superman’
We’re counting the days to the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and now composer Tom Holkenberg aka Junkie XL, has released a snippet of the forthcoming score for the movie.
Titled ‘Men Are Still Good’, this part of the score is the official theme for Ben Affleck’s Batman. Like all good Batman scores, the sample track has a commanding rift and beat that suggests notions of power, and will likely symbolise the darkness at the heart of Bruce Wayne, and the force of justice that drives him as Batman.
Holkenberg has been making a name for himself in Hollywood over the last few years with solid orchestral pieces for 300: Rise of An Empire and Mad Max: Fury Road, and he’s teamed up with his mentor and Hollywood orchestral legend, Hans Zimmer, for the Batman v Superman score. Holkenberg will handle all the scoring for Batman, while Zimmer will oversee everything for Superman, following on from his work in Man of Steel.
You’ll be able to hear more of Zimmer and Holkenberg’s incredible work when the battle rages between Batman and Superman on March 24 in Australia and New Zealand, and on March 25 in the US and UK.
