‘United we stand. Divided we fall.’
This saying is key in the latest TV spot for Marvel’s upcoming epic, Captain America: Civil War.
The new spot makes it abundantly clear that the Avengers and their superhero allies are very much divided and ready to battle it out until the losing side is no more. With Black Panther seemingly on Iron Man’s side and the Winter Soldier standing with his oldest friend, Captain America, it’s difficult to say who will come out on top, especially when directors Anthony and Joe Russo have said that the film will differ from the comic series.
Here’s the synopsis:
One year after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving Steve Rogers and the Avengers results in collateral damage, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the Avengers, which results in the fracturing of the team into two opposing factions – one led by Rogers (Chris Evans) who wishes to operate without regulation, and one led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who supports government oversight – while they attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.
Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 5 in Australia and New Zealand and on May 6 in the US and UK.
