The third film in the Purge horror franchise is gearing up for release, with the first trailer dropping today.
Here’s the synopsis:
Former police sergeant Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) finds himself working as head of security for Senator Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), who is a front runner in the presidential race thanks to her vow to eliminate the Purge. However, on the night of what should be the final purge, a betrayal within the government forces Barnes and Roan onto the street where they must fight to survive the night.
Set for release on July 1, The Purge: Election Year sees director James DeMonaco returning to the franchise after directing the first two films. Mykelti Williamson, Edwin Hodge, Betty Gabriel, Kyle Secor, Joseph Julian Soria, and Liza Colon-Zayas also star.
