He was a desperate man in Titanic and maniacally evil in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and now Bill Paxton is stepping into slightly new territory with CBS’ Training Day sequel.
According to TRH, Paxton has taken one of the leading roles in the project, which is set 15 years after the 2001 film. It will follow an idealistic African American police officer named Kyle Craig, who becomes part of an elite squad of the LAPD. The young man is subsequently partnered with a morally ambiguous detective Frank Rourke (Paxton) who plays by different rules when it comes to chasing the worst of the worst.
Training Day was a huge hit upon release, earning Denzel Washington an Oscar and Ethan Hawke a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Director Antoine Faqua is set to produce the series along with former LAPD detective Will Beall (Gangsta Squad), who is also writing the script.
