After capturing the hearts and fierce loyalty of nerds everywhere as Loki in Thor, The Avengers, and Thor 2: The Dark World, and impressing in more dramatic fare like I Saw the Light and The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston has established himself as one of Britain’s hottest acting assets, and it’s easy to see why.
With that charming personality, dazzling smile, looks to die for, and the acting chops that’ll surely see him sweeping major awards in the not too distant future, it’s no wonder the world has gone Hiddleston crazy. As a testament to his star power and popularity, Hiddleston has been rumoured to be in contention for the role of James Bond, once Daniel Craig officially steps down as 007.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, as reported by EW, Hiddleston commented on the rumours that he could be the next Bond saying “If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity.” Hiddleston also made it very clear about the level of commitment he’d bring to the role, adding “And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”
While Daniel Craig has not yet officially stepped down from the franchise, various interviews he gave in the build up to the release of Spectre made it apparent that his time could be up soon. Hiddleston would undoubtedly be a wonderful choice for Bond, so we’ll be following this story closely.
