Five things we want to see from The Punisher in ‘Daredevil’

Ever since he was cast as Frank Castle in season two of Daredevil, we’ve been salivating at the thought of what Jon Bernthal will bring to one of the most respected characters in the Marvel Universe. Bernthal’s appearance in the first trailer for season two did not disappoint, and it got us thinking about the five things we want to see from him in season two:

5. Extensive Firepower

Frank Castle is known for his love of guns, and from the first trailer it appears that Bernthal has plenty of firepower at his side. We have our fingers crossed for a good dose of alternative weapons, and plenty of scenes showing Castle’s proficiency with handguns, SMGs, and assault rifles. Hell, even some heavier weapons like flamethrowers or rocket launchers would really be appreciated.

4. Military family man

Originally conceived as a United States Marine Corps Recon soldier who served in the jungles of Vietnam, Castle has also received extensive training with the Navy SEALs, and even the British SAS. As a lethally proficient combat soldier who has dealt with his fair share of bad guys, it would be almost criminal to not show Castle’s past. While we don’t know if we’ll get to see any flashbacks with his time in uniform, we’re hoping that season two will at least reference his military service.

3. A methodical plan of vengeance

Frank Castle is nothing if not a skilled and resourceful planner and master of strategy, and we hope to see him cross his death list off one name at a time. We’re confident that showrunners have crafted an elaborate plan of vengeance for New York’s one-man army. Fingers crossed that it’ll be the loathsome Ganucci family that Castle will be targeting.

2. A beatdown with Elektra

These two anti-heroes are two of the biggest and baddest hand-to-hand combatants in the Marvel Universe, and we’d love to see their lethal skills put to the test. While Frank is all about raw, brutal force, Elektra offers a refined discipline, and honed ninjutsu skills. We already know that Matt is going to end up on Frank’s bad side, and will likely end up beaten to a bloody pulp. Elektra to the rescue? We hope so!

1. The ‘death heads’ skull!

It’s the iconic symbol that is both feared and respected throughout the Marvel Universe, and while we’ve seen it in promotional images for the new series, so far there’s no concrete footage showcasing how Frank gets his unique symbol. If it were up to us, Castle would pick up a can of white spray paint and scrawl the skull on a Kevlar vest before throwing on his trenchcoat, picking up an M4, and going to work!

What do you think SpicyPulpers? What would you like to see Jon Bernthal bring to Frank Castle?
