Auteur director Luc Besson has shared a first look at his adaptation of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which is bound to see fans of the graphic novel begging for more.
The new images arrived courtesy of Empire, and showcase Besson along with stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne as space travelling heroes Valerian and Laureline.
Besson has both written and directed the new film which is an adaptation of the French cult graphic novel series by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. The graphic novel has long been a source of inspiration for Besson, particularly in relation to his own science fiction extravaganza, The Fifth Element.
With a directorial master at the helm, an impressive young cast, and some of the most original science fiction material ever powering the story, you can bet that Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is going to be an absolute must-watch when it’s released on July 21, 2017.
