Alicia Vikander and Dane DeHaan reveal their strong chemistry in ‘Tulip Fever’ trailer
We love a good period drama, even more so when it involves a proper lady doing the dirty with a hot young artist.
Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and indie darling Dane DeHaan have paired up for this intriguing adaptation of Deborah Moggach’s novel Tulip Fever, which is set in the Netherlands in the early 17th-century. Vikander plays a young woman unhappily married to an older man (Christoph Waltz), who commissions a young artist (DeHaan) to paint his beautiful bride. Naturally the two fall in love, and invest in the tulip market in order to fund a future together.
The film looks to be a genuinely beautiful and risky love story, and the chemistry between Vikander and DeHaan is its strongest asset. Judi Dench, Holliday Grainger, Zach Galifianakis, Jack O’Connell and Matthew Morrison also appear in the film, along with DeHaan’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets co-star Cara Delevingne.
Tulip Fever will be released on July 15 in the US.
