Since he pulled a Chris Pratt and got super buff for Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, we’ve been wondering what John Krasinski’s next move would be. Sure we’d love to see him in more comedies, but this latest role might just be his best yet.
It was recently reported by Deadline that Krasinski has closed a deal with Amazon Studios to play Jack Ryan in a television series loosely based on Tom Clancy’s famous novels. The character has appeared in several novels and five film adaptations, and has been portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. Krasinski will be the first actor to bring the character to life on the small screen.
With Lost‘s Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland on the team, as well as Krasinski’s 13 Hours director Michael Bay producing, the series is sure to be given the green light. There’s no word yet on who else will be joining the cast, but that’s just as well…it’s Krasinski’s time to shine.
