It’s been a long mission for Disney and Lucasfilms to find their young Han Solo, and while it’s not yet a done deal, sources are saying Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures, Hail, Caesar!) is closing in on a deal.
After 2,500 young actors put their name in the hat to play the iconic character including Taron Egerton, Jack Reynor, Miles Teller, and Scott Eastwood, it seems directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were ultimately been won over by Ehrenreich.
The American actor has steadily built a solid resume since being discovered by Steven Spielberg, and has worked with directing greats like Francis Ford Coppola, Woody Allen, and the Coen brothers.
The Han Solo standalone film is scheduled for release in 2018. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Gareth Edwards’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, due out later this year,
