Jared Leto offers new details on ‘Suicide Squad’
Jared Leto stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently, and the Oscar winner opened up about what it’s been like for him to take on the role of sociopathic supervillain The Joker in Suicide Squad.
“Suicide Squad is about a bunch of homicidal maniacs having a really good time. It’s just your regular popcorn movie. But I got the call and was invited to play the Joker, which was terrifying, and exciting, and an honour,” said Leto.
On what it meant to be cast as The Joker, Leto commented “it was really the most fun I’ve ever had on a film in my life. I had a blast. It was a real honour to get asked to play the part.”
Leto also conveyed to Ellen his deep respect for the film’s source material, and for the fans.
“These characters are so special to people, and I have a lot of respect for that. It was just a really, really great opportunity.”
Leto also delved into the makeup process that went into bringing the Clown Prince of Crime to life, and fans of his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, will also be pleased to know that he’s back in the studio, and is working on a new album.
