We’re days away from the premiere of AMC’s adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult graphic novel Preacher, and thanks to a new featurette we’ve been given an inside look into the mischievous and anti-heroic leads.
The featurette focuses on the dysfunctional trinity of burnt-out Texas reverend Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his gun-toting ex-girlfriend and all-round former bad girl Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga), and rambunctious, sleaze ball Irish vampire Cassidy (Joe Gilgun). In terms of casting, series creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Sam Catlin appear to have been spot on in their decisions, choosing actors who embody the best of the characters.
In addition to the new character featurette, we’ve also got a brand new trailer which brings the world of Preacher into the spotlight, and introduces the show’s vast supporting characters including the vile Sheriff Hugo Root (W. Earl Brown), bickering angels DeBlanc and Fiore (Anatol Yosuf, Tom Brooke), and the ever loveable Eugene Root, better known to the world as Assface (Ian Colletti).
Preacher premieres on May 22 on AMC.
