SDCC 2016: Chaos and fear looms in new trailer for ‘Vikings’
After abandoning his people and his very nature, Ragnar Lothbrok returned to a broken and destroyed Kattegat where he challenged all for his right to be King. Plagued with visions that destined him to never enter Valhalla, Ragnar will now face his fate in the most chaotic and intense season of Vikings yet.
To celebrate the impending release of Vikings, a ferocious new trailer was released as a part of Comic-Con 2016. Check it out below:
Travis Fimmel once again leads the horde and it appears we may be moving to his character’s fate at the hands of the vile King Aelle (Ivan Kaye), who murdered the historical Ragnar by throwing him into a pit of snakes. But while his fate is impending fans can be assured that Ragnar will be settling a few scores, especially with the antagonistic King Ecbert (Linus Roache).
Season four will also give greater focus to Ragnar’s four sons, including the raging and vengeful Ivar the Boneless, who’ll lead his brothers in a mass attack upon the English coastline, and who is portrayed to lethal effect by newcomer Alex Høgh Andersen. In addition to Ivar and his brother’s conquest of England, we’ll also see Katheryn Winnick’s Lagertha and Alyssa Sutherland’s Aslaug facing off against one another for the power to rule Kattegat, while Ragnar’s oldest son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), seeks to claim the Mediterranean for himself.
Season four of Vikings will continue later this year.
