‘Jack Ryan’ greenlit for Amazon
Following the announcement that John Krasinski would be taking on the role of Tom Clancy’s classic CIA character Jack Ryan in a new pilot for Amazon Studios, The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed that the pilot has officially be greenlit, and will go to series.
Titled Jack Ryan, the series will follow the titular character, who is still a CIA analyst at this point in time, as he uncovers a terrorist communication cell that leads him into the centre of a dangerous new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Given Krasinski’s reinvention as a shredded action hero in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, it’s pretty certain that his Ryan won’t be a simple desk jockey analyst, but that we’ll see him charging head first into danger.
Jack Ryan has a ten episode order and will premiere next year.
