Warning: This post contains some spoilers on Stranger Things season one.
Netflix’s Stranger Things has no doubt been the breakout series of 2016, and now the genius Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross, are spilling about the future of both Barbara and the evil Brenner.
In an interview with IGN, the show’s creators revealed that things aren’t looking good for fans who are hoping for Barbara’s return.
Speaking definitively on the matter, Matt said, “I can’t see it happening. But Barb will not be forgotten. We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it.”
So that’s that for a fan favourite.
However, when it comes to Brenner (Matthew Modine), we have been wondering if his vague ‘death’ scene was really the end for him. Thankfully Matt offered some insight on the character’s potential appearance in season two.
“I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner… as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me – when the monster jumps on him and we cut away. He would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there’s a possibility of seeing him again.”
We still have so many questions that need answering…all that’s left to do is for Netflix to greenlight the next season. So you know…hurry up guys.
