In 2003 Kate Beckinsale proved that she was no mere English rose when she donned the leather trenchcoat of vampire Death Dealer Selene in Underworld. Now she’s back, and ready to spray up the screen with bullets in Underworld: Blood Wars.
Following the events of Underworld: Awakening, Selene is once again joined by her former lover Michael Corvin to seek an end to the eternal war between the vampires and lycans.
Former art director and cinematographer Anna Foerster is set to make her feature film debut as director, and she’s bringing all the slick stylings of the Underworld universe back to the big screen. In addition to the return of Beckinsale, Blood Wars packs a terrific cast that also includes the return of the hunky Theo James as former vampire and now Corvinus hybrid David, along with the sinister and malevolent Charles Dance as his father Thomas.
Selene has battled many villains in her time, but now she’ll finally have to contend with a feisty vampire villainous by the name of Semira, and who is played by actress Lara Pulver, while Tobias Menzies rounds out the cast as Lycan leader Marius.
Blood Wars is looking to explore new territory for the franchise, but is also seeing the return of key Underworld character Michael Corvin who was formerly portrayed by Scott Speedman, and who will now be portrayed by actor Trent Garrett.
Underworld: Blood War has plenty of blood action to keep adrenaline junkies pumped, and will make its way into cinemas on January 6, 2017 in the US and UK.
