While we’re still eagerly waiting for Warner Brothers and DC Comics to bring Justice League to the big screen, the first trailer for a new animated movie based on the Justice League Dark comic series has just been released.
Here’s the synopsis:
Justice League Dark will follow the same premise of the comic book series which focuses on a group of occult heroes in the DC Universe including John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman and Etrigan the Demon, who have to come together to stop a supernatural force that the Justice League just can’t handle.
Check out the awesome trailer below:
What’s really exciting about the new release is that Matt Ryan will reprise his role of John Constantine in the new animated adaptation. From the moment we saw Ryan as Constantine we were entranced by him, and just like the rest of you we made our support known for cult series Constantine.
While the series was unfortunately cancelled, Ryan has continued to champion the role of Constantine in other DC series including in a guest spot on Arrow alongside Stephen Amell. It’s great to hear his gruff English accent again in the new trailer, and we can’t wait to see what he vocally brings to this new rendition of Constantine.
In addition to Ryan, the voice cast also includes Jason O’Mara as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Nicolas Turturro as Deadman, Ray Chase as Etrigan, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, and Jerry O’Connell as Superman/Clark Kent.
Justice League Dark will be released in 2017.
