The first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the highly anticipated continuation of the Alien franchise, has finally arrived, and it looks like a freaky watch.
Here’s the synopsis:
Bound for the remote side of the galaxy, the crew of the ship Covenant, uncover a faint distress call from an unknown planet. Seeking it out they discover what they believe to be an alien paradise, but soon discover that this new planet holds many secrets, including those of the doomed ship Prometheus, and its only survivor, the synthetic called David (Michael Fassbender). Soon finding themselves at the mercy of a vicious predator they must do all they can to escape the terror that has surrounded them before it is to late.
Set to an eerie rendition of Nat King Cole’s “Nature Boy” by Norwegian synthpop artist Aurora, the first trailer for Alien: Covenant is incredibly creepy and showcases a brand new vision from Ridley Scott as he walks a new group of explorers, including Katherine Waterston’s intrepid terraforming expert Daniels, into the dangers of the terrifying Xenomorphs.
Alongside Waterston, Scott has assembled a terrific cast for this engrossing sci-fi horror film which includes Billy Krudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, James Franco, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce. Michael Fassbender returns as both the sinister android David, and his new upgrade Walter.
Alien: Covenant is set to be released in cinemas on May 18, 2017 in New Zealand and Australia and on May 19, 2017 in the US and UK.
